Nisha and I visited the UAE and Lebanon in early March with a bunch of fellow Wharton students. The trip was amazing and the pictures below are a compilation from both Nisha and I. These are just a sampling of all there is to see and experience. You can click on photos for larger copies.

Yeah... we had our own sailboat for a day in Dubai. Hassan and Neale enjoying the rays.

Our Hotel: The Dusit Dubai

View from the top of our hotel toward the the ocean

View from the top of our hotel down Sheik al Zayed. The twin towers in the background are the Emirates Towers.

Getting Ready for Dune Bashing. I turned green when we got going. Had to make the driver stop the car so I could get out and get fresh air.

Sunset in the United Arab Emirates

Nisha and Jay in the Desert

Never been on Camel before... does it show?

Yes, it shows.

Juan Seizing the Opportunity to Dance with the Belly Dancer

Onto Beirut. Images such as these take a bit of getting used to.

Our trusty Lebanese Leaders: Hassan and Elie

I can hardly see them with that camo

Juan and Annie at Beiteddine in the Chouf Mountains

The Mountains of Lebanon

Jay and Nisha in the Beiteddine Palace

Nisha in the Stables of the Palace

Still in the Chouf, a Maronite Church on the Inside

And from the Outside

Back in Beirut, we visited a Greek Orthodox cathedral. The building had been completely refinished after the war save a few frescoes. This Fresco of Jesus is still bears bullet marks.

In Lebanon, Hassan looks Lebanese. That is to say scary and intimidating.

We visited a Sunni mosque in central Beirut. For non-Muslims, this is a rarity. The women were required to wear veils and this picture is of them on our way out of the mosque - Nisha was even in one of these!

Rafik Hariri's Memorial

The Memorial Up Close

We visited Byblos

The Byblos church (Maronite) from the outside

Byblos. The real deal. Not the place on 18th St.

How do you work this damn thing?
